Had oral surgery scheduled for today. Claim was submitted by oral surgeon.

Aetna never told either surgeon or myself that it was denied. Just found out 5 minutes before appointment. Called up, got an endless stream of advertising and surveys, then got some job-stealing *** in Mumbai who couldn't tell me anything. He connected me to dental, they gave me the run-around.

I got the same run-around for more than an hour. They still can't give me a valid answer as to why a basic extraction was denied, and will only whine that the bone graft wasn't on my plan.

If you have Aetna, you should have the number for your state's Department of Professional Regulation on speed dial. At least when I was unemployed, I had ACA coverage with a REAL insurance company.
